Part 1: My Body is a Temple

This piece came about from listening to Roxanne and Chris one morning on my way to work. I remember it resonated with me and I couldn’t get it out of my head. At first I wanted to loose weight to get into standards for my job. Then after this, it became about me and doing it to honor God.
How many of us can say that at one time in our life we ate whatever we wanted without thinking about the consequences? It’s very true of me until conviction set in. Some part of me has always been into health and wellness. The other part will devour a whole tub of Gelato in one setting although it read 2-4 servings depending on the size.
I’m not perfect by far and my goal isn’t to be a size zero although some women are naturally a size zero and there is nothing wrong with that as long as they are healthy. The overall goal of weight loss is not be a size zero but to be healthy. Be at a healthy weight for you. Have your own goals. We worship God with how we care for ourselves whether people know it or not.

“Do you not know that your body is the temple (sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit who lives within you, whom you have received (as a gift) from God? You are not your own. You were bought with a price (purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own). So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 AMP

We should want to be healthy. This is not just for Christians but for anyone who simply wants to respect their bodies or views their body as a temple. I still have cheat days but in those days are self control where either I control my portions or I workout on rest days. Stay tuned next week for my post baby update using what I learned from scripture and applying it to my daily life.

Until next time…..
God Bless
