Self Help, Motivational Book Reviews

Act Like Success, Think Like Success Review

Act Like Success, Think Like Success has always been one of those books that I wanted to read and never found the time to until now. There have been many times where I would start a motivational book but never finish it. I realized that I needed to learn more and be intentional on following my dreams and seeing my list of goals on my vision board come to past on the things that I prayed about. When I began reading the book I was hooked. I was amazed at all that Steve Harvey had been through to get to where he is now. I couldn’t relate to everything but I could relate to the overall aspect that “your dreams won’t work until you do.”

The book’s main goal was to drive it’s readers to follow their passions, goals or dreams in life. You don’t necessarily have to quit your day job but constantly work so your dreams can come to past. Don’t wait for a handout to be successful because life doesn’t work like that. You have to put in the time, the work and the sacrifices to have the life that you want. The road to success isn’t paved with a straight road. Mr. Harvey talks about his own experiences and then his goals. He informs his readers of how he obtained his goals and what his future plans are. He encourages them to never get comfortable where they are. Then he points out bold truths. One of my favorite aspects was that those who are willing to help those in need or attend fundraisers, galas, etc are more likely to succeed than those who are selfish with their money and try to keep it all for themselves. He spoke about a lot of things but success is not gained alone. It takes a team. There was a lot of wealth in his book that could be very beneficial to anyone pursuing their dreams.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the overall message and would definitely recommend that it be added to the “to read” list of books for entrepreneurs, dreamers, doers, those who want to work for themselves, those who want to do their best in their workplace, etc. It’s a great book to have in your personal collection. I purchased this book from It’s a great investment into yourself and you will see a return if you do the work.

Until next time, God Bless.
