The Real Mrs. Price by J.D Mason Book Review

Whoa! What a book! I can’t remember the last time a book made me this excited to get through to the end. It took two days to read and on the final day I started at 7 in the morning (pg 49) and finished before 4 p.m due to telling everyone they were on their own for lunch after I had made breakfast. So about the book:

“Mrs. Price and Mrs. Price are thrown into a tangled web when their husband comes up missing. Naturally the small town of Marlowe Price assumes that she’s done it. After all it’s a small town in Texas and the dead man is in her husbands car. The women don’t think he’s dead. Each has a secret of what he’s capable of but who can they trust? Plato was hired to find Edward Price and Roman was hire by Lucy Price to help uncover the truth.”

I ordered this book from Amazon (see link below).

The devil is truly in the details and J.d Mason left no stone unturned. I imagined the characters, felt the emotions they felt and it felt real. I had a front row seat the mystery that everyone wanted to know. Did Marlowe Price kill her mysterious husband Eddie Price?

This book was a page turner from start to finish. I locked myself in the bathroom to get through a few chapters. The chemistry between the characters were believable. The writing was unlike anything I’ve encountered before and engaging. Ms. Mason wrote detailed characters to give to the reader a visual of what they looked like. There was enough dialogue for the characters to interact but knowing the characters thoughts were better. Each character had their own insight and I found that interesting. (Third person POV) I’ve read a lot of books and usually only get into the mind of one or two characters. So I enjoyed reading and getting to know the main four characters. The character development was well written to make the reader understand how each characters story fit into the novel. It wasn’t choppy or dysfunctional. The narrative was very well written and it was the first book I’d ever read by Ms. Mason and it won’t be the last. To avoid spoilers, I’ll wrap this up. (Lol)

If you want to know more click the link below to buy. I loved this book and it’s not only a must read but will require an additional reading because of how good it was the first time around. I recommend this book if you want romance and suspense (heavy on the suspense) in the same novel. (Some sex scenes but nothing graphic)
