Shades of Black by Sandra Pinkey book review

Hi everyone! I usually don’t share photos of the books I review but of all the children’s books we have, this is one of my favorites. My girls loved it and enjoyed pointing out the different shades. I loved that this book featured African Americans in many of the hues we come in and the various eye colors also. It featured little girls that were natural or children with dreads or pigtails. It was a great read and straightforward about celebrating black children. They can accept themselves in many shades. I enjoy getting books that reflect us, our culture, our heritage and our hues. This is a book I recommend to all parents to teach their children about the different shades of African Americans, there is no one shade of blacks.

Peace & Love

I purchased this book from Amazon.
