When I purchased The 5 Second Rule on audible, it came as an audible recommendation. I had other self-help books and motivational books. At first, I didn’t like it. I don’t know what it was about that initial listen but stay with me. I gave it another chance. I realized I wasn’t in a receptive place for the message. I still had so much interpersonal healing going on at the time. I didn’t realize it then, but the book could’ve been helpful in getting me started. I’d just started my e-commerce business and was working on building the motivation to get up every day and put in the work. The 5-second rule encourages you to countdown starting from five and take action. Do that thing that you’re nervous about or scared of doing. Do that thing that you’ve been putting off, just take action.
I enjoyed listening to this book. It was filled with stories of how other people put the rule in place. I enjoyed how the book included testimonials. I liked the speaker also. She was energetic and engaged with telling the stories. If you are looking for motivation or an effective way to jumpstart your motivation, check out this book.
